UAMS Health selects Dr. Trenda Ray as CNO

Little Rock, Ark.-based UAMS Health has tapped Trenda Ray, PhD, RN, to serve as chief nursing officer and associate vice chancellor for patient care services.

Dr. Ray joined UAMS in 2011 as ambulatory operations officer and director of ambulatory nursing. She has also served as UAMS’ director of accreditation and compliance and leader of the care management program. Most recently, she was associate vice chancellor for patients and families.

She has prior experience working at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where she served in several leadership roles, including as director of the cardiac intensive care unit.

Dr. Ray was the 2008 recipient of the Society of Pediatric Nurses’ New Researcher Award of Excellence. She earned her PhD in nursing from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
