Summa Health System names Robert Gerberry SVP, general counsel

Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health System has named Rob Gerberry, JD, senior vice president and general counsel, according to Hudson Hub Times.

As general counsel, he will be responsible for the oversight, growth and development of legal services, SummaCare legal services, corporate compliance, government relations, internal audits, physician services and governance. In addition to his roles at Summa, Mr. Gerberry serves as vice chair of the American Health Lawyers Association In-House Counsel Practice Group, is the past president and a current member of the Ohio Hospital Association Council of Attorneys and has served on the Cleveland Bar Health Care Committee.

Prior to joining Summa in 2002, Mr. Gerberry practiced with the Cleveland law firms of Calfee, Halter & Griswold and McDonald Hopkins.

Mr. Gerberry began his new role Jan. 12, according to the report.
