Christopher Ward, MD, has joined St. Mary’s Health Care System in Athens, Ga., as chief medical officer.
Dr. Ward is an emergency medicine physician with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare leadership. He most recently served as CMO for several hospitals that are part of San Antonio-based Methodist Healthcare System, a joint venture between Nashville-based HCA and Methodist Healthcare Ministries.
Prior to that, Dr. Ward served as vice chair of emergency medicine for Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, Mass., formerly operated by Steward Health Care.
St. Mary’s Health Care System is part of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health.
