Dr. Somerville, who assumed her new role in August, most recently served as chief nursing executive of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She was previously senior vice president of patient care services and CNO at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
She serves as adjunct faculty at the Northeastern University School of Nursing and Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions, both based in Boston.
Dr. Somerville is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Leaders and the American Nurses Association. She earned her doctorate in nursing from the Boston College William F. Connell School of Nursing.
