SCL Health taps Cleveland Clinic exec as new chief medical informatics officer

Broomfield, Colo.-based SCL Health named Louis J. Capponi, MD, vice president and chief medical informatics officer.

Dr. Capponi comes to SCL Health from Cleveland Clinic, where he served as CMIO and a staff physician. He has also served as enterprise-wide CMIO and assistant VP for clinical information systems at New York City-based NYC Health + Hospitals.

A general internist, Dr. Capponi is a fellow in the American College of Physicians, and he has held faculty positions at New York City-based NYU School of Medicine and the Cleveland Clinic Learner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

SCL Health includes 11 hospitals, 100-plus physician clinics, as well as home health, hospice, mental health and safety-net services.
