SCL Health appoints 2 medical group leaders: 8 things to know

Broomfield, Colo.-based SCL Health appointed two leaders to its medical groups and provider services division, effective in February.

Here are eight things to know about the leaders.

Scott Baker was appointed COO for medical groups and provider services.

1. In his role, Mr. Baker will oversee operations for all six of SCL Health’s medical groups, according to a news release.

2. Most recently, he worked for Banner Health in Greeley, Colo., where he served as vice president of clinic operations for Banner Medical Group’s Western Division.

3. He also previously was interim CEO of Banner Northern Colorado between May and September 2016.

4. Mr. Baker earned a master’s degree in business administration from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo.

Cara Beatty, MD, will lead SCL Health’s largest medical group as president and CMO of Denver-based SCL Physicians.

5. In her role, Dr. Beatty will lead the largest of SCL Health’s medical groups, SCL Physicians. The multispecialty group serves patients in clinics throughout the Front Range and at Denver-based Saint Joseph Hospital, Lafayette, Colo.-based Good Samaritan Medical Center and Wheat Ridge, Colo.-based Lutheran Medical Center, according to a news release.

6. Most recently, she was market medical director for UnitedHealth Group Colorado.

7. Dr. Beatty also previously worked in various roles for Kaiser Permanente-Colorado between 2007 and 2015, including the senior physician director of member experience, operations chief for the west area and co-chief of primary care at Kaiser Permanente’s Hidden Lake offices in Westminster, Colo.

8. Dr. Beatty earned her medical degree from the University of Alberta in Canada.
