Providence taps service area chief executive

Raymond Moreno, MD, was appointed chief executive of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland and Providence Oregon’s west service area.

In his role, he leads St. Vincent and oversees Providence Oregon’s North Coast ministries, including Providence Seaside Hospital, according to a March 17 news release shared with Becker’s.

Dr. Moreno is a veteran of St. Vincent and previously served as its chief medical officer. He also previously held roles as the emergency department’s medical director and within the Oregon Emergency Physician group as its president.

He began his new role Jan. 27 as St. Vincent nears completion of its expanded emergency department, according to the release.

A first-generation Cuban American, Dr. Moreno also serves as executive sponsor for Providence’s Latinx caregiver resource group.

Providence Oregon is part of Providence, a 51-hospital health system based in Renton, Wash.
