Providence Health System taps Latriece Prince-Wheeler to run transformed DC campus

Washington, D.C.-based Providence Health System has named Latriece Prince-Wheeler executive director.

Ms. Prince-Wheeler began the role Feb. 3. She will be responsible for daily operations at Providence as well as support clinical service line management and strategy implementation, the system said. This oversight includes the Providence Northeast D.C. campus, which ended acute care services in 2018 and is being transitioned to offer outpatient services focused on prevention and wellness.

Ms. Prince-Wheeler most recently was COO and associate director for support services at Philadelphia-based Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center. She also worked as chief of staff for the management office of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and was chief administrative officer and special adviser to the VA secretary.

Providence is owned by St. Louis-based Ascension.
