Piedmont Newton Hospital taps Dr. Eric Bour to serve as CEO: 3 notes

Piedmont Newton Hospital in Covington, Ga., appointed Eric Bour, MD, its new CEO, according to a report by The Citizens.

Here are three notes:

1. Dr. Bour most recently served as president of Simpsonville, S.C.-based Hillcrest Memorial Hospital and Simpsonville Medical Campus, part of Greenville (S.C.) Health System.

2. A trained general and bariatric surgeon, he practiced for nearly three decades in Pennsylvania and South Carolina.

3. He will assume his new role in mid-August.
