Perry Ann Reed, DSc, was appointed interim senior vice president and chief development officer of Phoenix Children’s effective Aug. 31.
Ms. Reed will oversee Phoenix Children’s Foundation, including fundraising strategy, donor stewardship, corporate partnerships and foundation operations, according to an Aug. 26 news release. She succeeds Steve Schnall, who will retire Sept. 30 after 43 years at the health system.
The appointment is the latest in a series of recent executive changes at Phoenix Children’s. Earlier in August, the health system named Jamie Wiggins, PhD, RN, executive vice president, COO and chief nursing executive, and promoted Ryan Yeager to senior vice president of corporate finance and Richard Siever to senior vice president and chief legal officer.
Ms. Reed has held leadership roles at Nicklaus Children’s Health System in Miami, WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, N.C., and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, the release said. In prior roles, she helped secure major philanthropic investments, including an eight-figure naming gift for a pediatric surgical tower at Nicklaus Children’s.

Phoenix Children’s operates the 533-bed Phoenix Children’s Hospital-Thomas Campus in central Phoenix, the 48-bed Arrowhead Campus in Glendale, Ariz., and a 40-bed emergency department in Avondale, Ariz., along with 20 outpatient clinics, 12 pediatrics clinics, seven community-service outpatient clinics, four urgent care centers, two ambulatory surgery centers and three mobile medical units.
