Ms. Murphy will succeed Harold E. Anderson in October.
Ms. Murphy began her career at Moses Taylor as a nurse and has held multiple positions with the system during her tenure, according to the report.
She holds an MBA from Marywood University in Scranton, Pa., and a PhD in business administration from Temple University in Philadelphia.
