Dr. Hakim has served as Orlando’s chief of quality transformation since 2011. He will act as president and CEO until a permanent replacement is found, according to the report.
Ms. Sitarik’s recent departure followed layoffs, pay cuts and talks of unionizing at the health system. Orlando Health spokeswoman Kena Lewis told the Orlando Sentinel , “The leadership change at Orlando Health is based on the board’s desire to position Orlando Health strongly for the future.” When asked whether Ms. Sitarik resigned or was asked to leave, Ms. Lewis said, “All I can add is the board made the decision to transition leadership.”
