Oregon hospital dismisses CEO, chief nursing officer

Two executives have been dismissed from their roles at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, Ore., part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health.

Hospital CEO David Butler and Chief Nursing Officer Desi Shubin, MSN, RN, have exited their roles, a Quorum Health spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s

“The recent leadership changes were not for cause; there was a difference in the vision for the future of the hospital,” Quorum Health CEO Chris Harrison said in a statement shared with Becker’s on July 23. “We appreciate their service to the organization and wish them the best in their future endeavors.”

Gregory Brentano was named McKenzie-Willamette’s interim CEO, and Shelley Harris, DNP, RN, was named interim chief nursing officer. Both have experience in strategic growth and operational structure design, which helps the organization focus on strengthening services and initiatives to support patient care, Mr. Harrison said.
