OHSU Healthcare CEO tenders resignation 1 year into tenure: 6 things to know

Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University Healthcare CEO Mitch Wasden resigned after a little over a year into his tenure, according to The Lund Report.

Here are six things to know:

1. Mr. Wasden is departing due to “personal and family reasons,” an OHSU official told The Lund Report.

2. He assumed the top post at OHSU Healthcare in March 2017.

3. During his tenure, OHSU Adventist Health Portland entered into an agreement to integrate the organizations’ clinical activities and services.

4. He previously worked as CEO of Columbia-based University of Missouri Health Care.

5. John Hunter, MD, OHSU’s chief clinical officer, will take over as CEO of OHSU Healthcare.

6. Mr. Wasden will work with Dr. Hunter through June 30 to ensure a smooth transition.
