Novant Health UVA Health System names Dr. Douglas Markert chief clinical officer for 2 hospitals: 3 things to know

Manassas, Va.-based Novant Health UVA Health System appointed Douglas J. Markert, MD, chief clinical officer for Prince William Medical Center in Manassas and Haymarket (Va.) Medical Center.

Three things to know:

1. Dr. Markert previously served as chief interventional radiologist for the University of Virginia Community Division in Manassas.

2. He is also a past president of Novant Health UVA Health System’s medical staff. He has served as a member of the health system’s medical staff since 1999.

3. While at Novant Health UVA Health System, he spearheaded the creation of interventional radiology departments at Prince William Medical Center and Haymarket Medical Center.
