Dr. Strumwasser previously was senior vice president of operations in the San Francisco Bay Area for San Francisco-based Dignity Health. Dignity Health merged with Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives in February to form CommonSpirit Health.
Before joining Dignity Health in 2015, Dr. Strumwasser worked at Swedish Health Services in Seattle in several leadership roles, including COO and chief executive.
In his new role, Dr. Strumwasser will oversee seven hospitals:
• St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco
• St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco
• Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City
• Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz
• Mercy Medical Center in Redding
• St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff
• Mercy Medical Center in Mount Shasta
