North Carolina system president to retire

Ronald Sloan will retire as president of Nags Head, N.C.-based Outer Banks Health at the end of 2025.

Mr. Sloan has more than 40 years of healthcare leadership experience, including the last 14 years at Outer Banks Health, according to a May 7 health system news release. 

During his tenure, he helped expand access to care in the Outer Banks area, growing the organization from a small critical access hospital into a community hospital network, the release said.

Mr. Sloan joined Outer Banks Health as president in 2011. Before that, he served as administrator and system vice president of Sylva, N.C.-based Westcare Health System beginning in 2002, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Outer Banks Health has an ongoing partnership with Greenville, N.C.-based ECU Health and Chesapeake (Va.) Regional Healthcare.
