Nebraska hospital CEO exits

Eric Barber, president and CEO of Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Neb., will no longer serve in the role, effective Sept. 23.

“The MLH Board of Trustees acknowledges Eric’s contributions to the organization over the past 12 years and wish him well in his future endeavors,” according to a Sept. 24 hospital news release. He is pursuing other endeavors, a hospital spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s.

David Zechman was named interim CEO, effective Sept. 24. He previously served as a hospital CEO at Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Mr. Barber was named CEO in August 2013 after serving as CEO of Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Mo.

Mary Lanning Healthcare operates an acute care hospital and several clinics across Nebraska.
