Michigan hospital names chief nurse

Tresa Kruis, MSN, RN, has been named vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer for Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Ms. Kruis has worked in a variety of nursing leadership rules during her 19 years at Bronson Healthcare. Earlier this year, she stepped in as interim chief nurse for Bronson Methodist Hospital after her predecessor, Marla Atkinson, MSN, RN, retired. 

Prior to that, Ms. Kruis was the hospital’s director of nursing for 11 years. As chief nurse, she will report to Kimberly Hatchel, senior vice president and COO for Bronson Methodist Hospital, which is a level 1 trauma center and Bronson Healthcare’s flagship campus.
