Mercy CFO to retire

Cheryl Matejka, CFO of St. Louis-based Mercy, will retire Dec. 31, after being with the system for 19 years, the Healthcare Financial Management Association reported Dec. 1.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Matejka served as senior vice president of financial operations for Mercy. She also served as CFO for Mercy East Communities and vice president of finance for St. Louis-based St. Johns Mercy, according to her LinkedIn page

Before joining Mercy, Ms. Matejka served in multiple finance roles at St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare. 

“As I retire from Mercy after 19 years, I have nothing but gratitude for the privilege of serving in the healthcare industry,” Ms. Matejka told HMFA. “I loved working with so many amazingly gifted and compassionate people who are truly tireless in their efforts to serve all with dignity and excellence.”
