Since 2011, Mr. Rushing has served as Memorial Hermann’s COO. He joined the hospital in 2000 as a field representative and coordinator for patient relations activities, then later as director of operational improvement. Before joining Memorial Hermann Northeast, Mr. Rushing, a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, served as director of operational improvement at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
Mr. Rushing’s appointment follows the retirement of Louis G. Smith, Jr. Mr. Smith, who has served as Memorial Hermann Northeast’s CEO since 2007, is leaving the hospital to become president of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to the Gainesville Times.
