McLaren names hospital CEO

Tom Keller has been named president and CEO of Bay City, Mich.-based McLaren Bay Region, effective Aug. 11.

He brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role, according to a July 22 news release from Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care shared with Becker’s.

Mr. Keller most recently served as president and CEO of West Plains, Mo.-based Ozarks Healthcare, where he expanded service lines, recruited providers and oversaw more than $100 million in capital investments.

He was previously named president and CEO of Joplin, Mo.-based Freeman Health System, with a planned start date of Dec. 1, but did not assume the role.

He previously served as executive vice president and COO of SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital-Shawnee in Oklahoma.

Mr. Keller succeeds Jamie Carter and Tim Vargas, who served as interim leaders during the search process.

McLaren Bay Region includes a hospital campus in Bay City and several clinics and health centers throughout the region.
