Here are five things to know about Ms. Witzlsteiner.
1. She has led philanthropic efforts at Sonora Regional Medical Center for more than two decades.
2. During her tenure, the hospital has gone through major transitions, including the move in 2004 from a 60,000-square-foot facility to the current 120,000-square-foot campus on in Sonora, according to the report. She completed the hospital’s first capital campaign for the new campus in 2002.
3. Ms. Witzlsteiner also developed the hospital’s first philanthropy program and has helped raise more than $23 million and $7.5 million in estate and property gifts through a various annual events, according to the report.
4. Before she retires, she wants to see the successful completion of a $3 million fundraising campaign for the hospital’s new cancer center.
5. Once she retires, Ms. Witzlsteiner said she plans to continue volunteering, spend more time with her family, garden, learn to play piano and develop a small business.
