Lancaster General Hospital names president

Karen Flaherty-Oxler is the new president of Lancaster (Pa.) General Hospital, effective Aug. 18, according to a Lancaster Online report.

Ms. Flaherty-Oxler will succeed Thomas Beeman, who remains president and CEO of parent Lancaster General Health. Ms. Flaherty-Oxler will also remain the system’s senior vice president of hospital operations and senior nurse executive, according to the report.

Ms. Flaherty-Oxler joined LGH in February 2012 as senior nurse executive. Before then, she served as a deputy surgeon general of the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. She served a total of 38 years in the Navy, according to the report.
