Abelardo Núñez will begin his role as CFO on July 8, according to a June 19 news release from Los Angeles-based Keck Medicine of USC, which acquired the hospital in 2022. He replaces Bill Grigg, who is retiring after 12 years in the role.

Mr. Núñez most recently served as CFO of San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp, Calif., according to the release. He also previously served as director of financial operations for Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Health Care.

Veronica Vasquez-Montez, MD, was named associate chief medical officer, a newly created position at the hospital, according to the release. She will dedicate half of her time to the new role while continuing to fulfill her responsibilities as clinical and medical director of the hospital’s emergency department.

USC Arcadia Hospital President and CEO Ikenna Mmeje said in the release that the associate chief medical officer position “aims to continuously improve the safety, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness, equity, and timeliness of health care service to all patients.”

Dr. Vasquez-Montez begins her new role on July 1.
