Kaiser Permanente Hawaii president retires

Mary Ann Barnes, RN, president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals Hawaii Region, retired Sept. 8.

Here are four things to know.

1. Ms. Barnes joined Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente more than 43 years ago as an intensive care unit nurse. 

2. She joined Honolulu-based Kaiser Permanente Hawaii in 2014.

3. Bill Caswell, senior vice president and COO for Kaiser Permanente Southern California in Pasadena, will serve as interim regional president while an executive search is conducted.

4. Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals Hawaii Region also appointed Ray Hahn senior vice president and COO.
