Andy Flemer joined Fairfield (Ill.) Memorial Hospital as interim CEO on Sept. 15, following the dismissal of former CEO Mike Cooper, according to radio station WFIW.
Mr. Flemer previously served as CEO of Arkansas Valley Regional Hospital, a critical access hospital in La Junta, Colo., from June 2022 until his departure in May.
Mr. Cooper was appointed CEO of Fairfield Memorial in July 2024 and served in the role until his dismissal on Sept. 8, according to WFIW. The radio station reported that no reason was given for his termination. Becker’s has reached out to the hospital and will update this story if more information becomes available.
Fairfield Memorial is a 25-bed critical access hospital with more than 390 employees, according to its website. Mr. Flemer is employed through the hospital’s affiliation agreement with Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health System.
