Holzer Health System appoints CEO, board chairman

Gallipolis, Ohio-based Holzer Health System has named Christopher T. Meyer, DO, CEO and chairman of the board of governors, effective Jan. 1.

Dr. Meyer joined Holzer in 2001 and has served as medical site director of both of Holzer’s facilities in Athens and Jackson, Ohio. Most recently, he served as the system’s CMO.

Prior to his tenure at Holzer, Dr. Meyer ran a private medical practice in Athens, Ohio. He also served as chairman of Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine Core System in Athens, associate dean of OUCOM, medical director at Saginaw (Mich.) Osteopathic Hospital and vice president of medical education at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Mich.

Dr. Meyer succeeds T. Wayne Munro, MD, whose retirement took effect today.
