HCA taps chief medical officer for Texas hospital

Pasadena, Texas-based HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast has named Musaddiq Waheed, MD, as chief medical officer. His appointment became effective Jan. 15.

Dr. Waheed, a family medicine specialist, has spent more than 18 years in healthcare, most recently serving as assistant CMO at HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland (Texas). He is also the former regional medical director for Envision Healthcare in Houston, where he oversaw improvements in quality outcomes, according to a Feb. 2 news release. 

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, is a 350-bed acute-care hospital with a level 3 trauma center.
