David Russell has been named chief strategy officer of Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare and Woodruff Health Sciences, effective Oct. 1.
Mr. Russell brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic growth, business development and operational leadership at large academic medical centers, according to a Sept. 24 Emory news release. In his new role, he will oversee enterprise strategy, business development and strategic partnerships.
He most recently served as chief business development officer and executive vice president of organizational transformation at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He also spent 15 years at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and held an earlier role at San Francisco-based UCSF Health’s children’s hospital.
