Mr. Reno takes over for Mark Schwartz, who recently resigned after a three-year tenure as CEO. David Pate, MD, who in March became CEO of the hospital’s parent, five-hospital St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho, has been filling in as CEO since the resignation.

Mr. Reno already spends about half his time working with the five-hospital St. Luke’s Health System in Boise, Idaho, to help make it more efficient by using the “lean” production system from Toyota.
