Dr. Payton has served as a medical staff member at Edward Hospital since 2000, when he was practicing with Naperville Surgical Associates. He most recently served as specialist medical director of Edward Medical Group and president of the hospital’s medical staff.
A general surgeon, he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Association for Physician Leadership.
Dr. Payton succeeds Sanjeeb Khatua, MD, who is now serving as executive vice president of the physician and ambulatory network and chief physician executive of Naperville-based Edward-Elmhurst Health.
