Dr. Benjamin Lee is NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens’ new thoracic surgery division chief: 4 points

New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens named Benjamin E. Lee, MD, chief of thoracic surgery.

1. Dr. Lee has also joined New York City-based Weill Cornell Medicine’s faculty as an assistant professor of clinical cardiothoracic surgery.

2. He previously practiced at Ridgewood, N.J.-based Valley Health System.

3. He focuses on chest disorders and diseases, with a special interest in benign and malignant tumors of the lungs, esophagus and the mediastinum. He also has expertise in robotic-and video-assisted thoracic surgery.

4. He completed a thoracic surgical research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, both in New York City.
