Dignity Health Names Dr. Robert Turbow Chief Patient Safety Officer

Robert Turbow, MD, a neonatologist, has been named chief patient safety officer for San Francisco-based Dignity Health’s Central Coast hospitals, according to a San Luis Obispo report.

In his new position, Dr. Turbow will be charged with overseeing quality improvement and patient safety projects at the hospitals. Additionally, he will chair a patient safety committee, comprised of nurses, physicians and administrators from each hospital.

Dr. Turbow currently serves as the chair of the bioethics committee at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, Calif.
