Nanette Mickiewicz, MD, president and CEO of Dignity Health Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, Calif., plans to retire in 2026.

Dr. Mickiewicz has led the hospital since 2006, a hospital spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s. She previously served as Dominican Hospital’s chief medical officer beginning in 2000.

Under her leadership, Dominican Hospital launched Santa Cruz County’s first graduate medical education program in partnership with Morehouse School of Medicine, which strengthened local workforce development and physician training. The hospital also established and expanded the city’s only full-service cardiac surgery program, which now serves as a regional center of excellence, according to the spokesperson.

Her final day in the role has not been determined, and a national search has been launched for her successor.

Dominican Hospital is part of San Francisco-based Dignity Health.
