Dartmouth hospital CEO to retire after 16 years

Thomas Dee will retire in January after 16 years as president and CEO of Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

Estevan Garcia, MD, has been appointed its next president and CEO, according to an Oct. 28 hospital news release.

Dr. Garcia brings a 30-year career in healthcare leadership, with prior roles as chief medical officer at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Mass., and Brookdale (N.Y.) University Hospital. He also served as interim CEO of Tewksbury Hospital in Massachusetts.

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center is a member of Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth Health.
