COO of Detroit Medical Center leaves for Trinity Health post

Reginald Eadie, MD, resigned as Regional COO of Detroit Medical Center earlier this week and has now been named president and CEO of Hartford, Conn.-based Trinity Health of New England, effective March 26, according to Crain’s Detroit Business.

Trinity Health of New England includes seven hospitals and is part of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health. The system has been led by interim CEO Roger Spoelman, DBA, for several months after former CEO Christopher Dadlez stepped down.

Dr. Eadie completed his residency at and went on to hold a number of leadership positions within the system including CEO of DMC Detroit Receiving HospitalDMC Harper University Hospital and DMC Hutzel Women’s Hospital, all in Detroit. He holds a medical degree from Detroit-based Wayne State University School of Medicine and an executive master’s degree in business administration from Michigan State University in East Lansing.

“Dr. Eadie’s successful senior executive leadership and particular expertise in hospital integration and transformation over the past 10 years made him a compelling choice to lead our health system,” said Kevin O’Connor, Trinity Health of New England’s board chair, according to Crain’s Detroit Business.
