Mr. Nelms joins the health system from Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health where he served as assistant vice president of patient financial services, according to a Nov. 3 Cone Health news release. He previously served as a director of payer contracting at Cigna.
“The combination of his strong background and leadership at a large complex health system and his knowledge of insurance company operations is ideal for this important leadership role,” Cone Health CFO Andy Barrow said in the release.
