Cone Health exec to join Maryland system

A pharmacy leader at Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health will become the first chief pharmacy officer of University of Maryland Medical System, based in Baltimore, on July 21. 

Andre Harvin, PharmD, currently serves as Cone Health’s chief pharmacy officer and vice president of pharmacy services. At UMMS, Dr. Harvin will set “a bold, visionary course for pharmacy services across our system,” a system spokesperson told Becker’s June 9. 

“He will lead the standardization and integration of pharmacy practice with an emphasis on innovation, quality, safety and patient-centered care — now and for the future,” the spokesperson said. 

Prior to joining Cone Health in 2019, Dr. Harvin worked at Fresenius Kabi, UnitedHealth Group and Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, N.C.
