In September, Mr. Makosky will begin serving as COO of a hospital in Bluefield, W. Va., that was not named.
Mr. Makosky cited the uncertainty of the future of the contract between the hospital board and the Cibola County government as one reason for his departure.
The Cibola County government purchased the hospital in 1988, as it was reportedly about to fail. Since then, the hospital board has contracted with the county to oversee the hospital and lease the building, according to the report.
