Cape Fear Valley appoints interim leaders during CEO's medical leave

The Cape Fear Valley Health System board named CFO Sandra Williams and COO Daniel Weatherly as acting senior leadership while CEO Michael Nagowski is on medical leave, the system announced Dec. 2.

Mr. Nagowski temporarily left the Fayetteville, N.C.-based health system in October due to an unspecified health issue, according to The Fayetteville Observer. He is 54 years old and has led the system since 2008.

"Both Sandra and Dan will continue to provide capable direction for the health system until Mike's return," Sandra Carr Johnson, chair of the Cape Fear Valley Health board, said in a press release.
