Siri Nelson has stepped down as president and CEO of Placerville, Calif.-based Marshall Medical Center after seven years in the role.
The Marshall Board of Directors named Chief Medical Affairs Officer Martin Entwistle interim CEO, effective immediately, while the board conducts a search for a permanent successor, according to a July 17 hospital news release.
During Ms. Nelson’s tenure, the hospital expanded into El Dorado Hills, strengthened its revenue cycle, launched a cancer services affiliation with UC Davis Health and earned multiple national quality awards. Ms. Nelson will remain engaged for a transitional period to support leadership continuity.
“Siri has led Marshall with vision, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to our patients, employees, and community,” Board Chair Tom Cumpston said in the release.
Prior to his interim appointment, Mr. Entwistle served as Marshall’s chief medical affairs officer, with decades of experience in clinical operations, healthcare innovation and population health.
Marshall Medical Center is a nonprofit, 111-bed acute care hospital with more than 1,600 employees serving El Dorado County, according to its website.
