California Hospital Association names Carmela Coyle CEO: 3 points

The California Hospital Association, and its parent organization the California Association of Hospitals & Health Systems, selected Carmela Coyle as president and CEO, effective Oct. 30.

1. Ms. Coyle currently serves as president and CEO of the Maryland Hospital Association, a role she held since 2008.

2. For 20 years prior, she served in various roles with the American Hospital Association, including 11 years as the senior vice president of policy.

3. She is succeeding C. Duane Dauner, who is retiring. Mr. Dauner will continue to serve as a consultant until Dec. 31, 2018.
