Taunton, Mass.-based Morton Hospital named Jill O’Brien, MD, chief medical officer and medical director of hospital medicine; she took on the dual role as of Oct. 1.
Dr. O’Brien will oversee quality, safety and clinical operations at Morton Hospital — part of Providence, R.I.-based Brown University Health — and oversee the hospital medicine program, according to an Oct. 6 system news release. Her clinical leadership will support the delivery of high-quality care and patient care experiences.
Dr. O’Brien succeeds Charles Thayer, MD, who retired as CMO but will continue to provide surgical care to patients at his practice.
Most recently, Dr. O’Brien served as vice president of strategy, planning and optimization for Brown University Health.
