Baystate Health names former Massachusetts state senator to exec team: 3 points

Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health tapped Michael R. Knapik to serve as vice president of government and community relations, effective Feb. 19.

1. Mr. Knapik most recently worked in the Office of Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker as director of the Governor’s Western Massachusetts Regional Office.

2. He previously served as executive director-advancement, alumni and university relations at Westfield (Mass.) State University.

3. He also served as a senator for 10 terms in the Massachusetts State Senate and for two terms as state representative in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
