Ballad Health names Pam Austin CIO

Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health has tapped Pam Austin as senior vice president and CIO.

Ms. Austin is a 23-year veteran of Ballad. 

She was named as the health system’s vice president, CIO-operations in February 2018. Most recently, she served as senior vice president and interim CIO since April 2019.

During her tenure with Ballad, she has played a key part in preparing the health system to transition health records to Epic, the organization said.

Ms. Austin previously held roles with Johnson City-based Mountain States Health Alliance, which merged with Kingsport, Tenn.-based Wellmont Health System to form Ballad. These positions included senior system analyst and vice president of IT.
