Aurora President and CEO Nick Turkal, MD, sent an email to system employees yesterday, stating the system is making management changes to improve hospital financial results.

Mary O’Brien, president of Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, resigned. George Hinton, president of Aurora Sinai Medical Center, is leaving the organization, and the position of president at that hospital has been eliminated, according to Dr. Turkal’s email.

Dennis Potts, senior vice president of corporate services, will assume leadership of four facilities in the Milwaukee area, including Aurora St. Luke’s, Aurora Sinai, Aurora St. Luke’s South Shore and Aurora Psychiatric Hospital. Mr. Potts’ new formal title was not confirmed in the report.

Carolynn Glocka, president of Aurora St. Luke’s South Shore, will manage Aurora Sinai in addition to her current responsibilities.

Additionally, Dr. Turkal said he is “implementing an interim approach to the management of our medical centers until a new chief operations officer is named,” according to the report. Under this structure, Brad Hahn, executive vice president of finance, will oversee hospitals not included in Mr. Potts’ scope.
