Dr. Strongwater, currently chief transformation officer and chief medical executive for acquisition integration at Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System, will start in late July or early August.
Here are three things to know about Dr. Strongwater.
1. Dr. Strongwater previously was CEO of Stony Brook (N.Y.) University Hospital, a 591-bed academic teaching hospital.
2. Dr. Strongwater has served as an advisor to the Association of American Medical Colleges.
3. Dr. Strongwater has held various positions at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, including associate dean for clinical affairs. He also served in a number of positions at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
