Dr. Berkovitz will begin the position Feb. 9.
“Since 2018, Dr. Berkovitz has served as president of Ascension Medical Group in Michigan. In this role, and earlier in his distinguished career, he has demonstrated a commitment to collaboration, a focus on patient-centered care, and the mindset of a true servant leader,” Craig Cordola, executive vice president and COO of Ascension, said in a news release. “Dr. Berkovitz is a respected, strategic clinical and administrative leader who has a history of delivering measurable success for large health systems.”
Dr. Berkovitz previously helmed Peoria, Ill.-based OSF Healthcare System’s Cardiovascular Institute, Ascension said. He also held leadership roles at Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health.
He is a board-certified cardiologist and diplomate in interventional cardiology.
