Becker’s has reported on nine hospital and health system CEO exits, from retirements to resignations, since Oct. 23.
Three leaders announced retirement plans, while three others are moving organizations. These include cross-regional transitions, including Mark Rosenblatt, MD, PhD, who will exit his role as CEO of Chicago-based University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics to join Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health, effective Jan. 19.
Below are the moves recently reported by Becker’s:
1. Ron Kloewer plans to retire as CEO of Montgomery County Memorial Hospital + Clinics in Red Oak, Iowa, effective in June.
2. Cliff Deveny, MD, president and CEO of Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health, plans to step down and transition into an advisory role, effective Jan. 1.
3. Thomas Dee will retire in January after 16 years as president and CEO of Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.
4. Janet Hadar, MSN, president and CEO of Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Hospitals, will exit the role and become COO of University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System, effective Jan. 12.
5. Terry Nichols was dismissed as CEO of Cedar County Memorial Hospital in El Dorado Springs, Mo.
6. Guy Giesecke exited his role as CEO of Jackson-based Children’s of Mississippi and was named senior vice president and CEO of Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
7. Steve Corwin, MD, plans to step down Jan. 22 as president and CEO of New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian.
8. David Fuqua, BSN, will retire March 31 as CEO of Marshall County Hospital in Benton, Ky.
9. Mark Rosenblatt, MD, PhD, will exit his role as CEO of Chicago-based University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics and become vice chancellor of human health sciences at Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health, effective Jan. 19.
